Beaver Fever: A family of beavers have dammed a piece of Thornton Creek and created a beaver pond, reports Maple Leaf Life. Adorably, the beavers have recently had baby beavers. Not adorably, beavers can apparently grow to be over 100 pounds. Yikes!
Fix the Missing Link: Verdict expected today on a lawsuit filed against the city by concerned Ballardites concerning โthe missing linkโโa section of the Burke-Gilman Trail which takes cyclists and hikers through a precarious, unfinished stretch on the way to Golden Gardens.
Heavy Handed: Police are on the hunt for two men who pistol-whipped a 20-year-old man near 17th Avenue and East Spring Street around 12:30 a.m. Thursday, March 31, reports Central District News.
Homeland Security: Three burglars were allegedly caught red-handed in a White Center house and then chased down by gun and machete-toting homeowners. The suspects were arrested on Wednesday at a motel where they were allegedly hiding out.
No April Fools Joke: A car crashed April 1 into the Westwood Village Bank of America, injuring two people, reports West Seattle blog.

I’m kind of mixed in my opinion about the Ballard segment of the Burke-Gilman. Used to bike along that section at times, but realized it was just easier to go up 8th to N 58th or thereabouts and the ride was better.
On the other hand, if it was done right, the route would be super cool in the summer.
The violence on Cap Hill is spillover from the Central District. Since the police have stepped up their GTF patrols, the thugs need a safe place to work their evil. Where better than the quieter areas of the Hill?
The police here are too busy making sure that the homeless aren’t drinking in Cal Anderson and that what you’re rolling is actually a cigarette to deal with gang activity in MY neighborhood. Which is, by the way, mostly gay, white, and working class. You know, taxpayers.
Note to SPD: Get your fucking priorities straight!!!
