(C) It’s the suggested donation at a Donaldson fundraiser this Sunday at Island Soul on Rainier Ave. where beloved former Sonic Shawn Kemp will be serving guests a menu of Calypso wings, plantains, coconut muffins, tostones, and salad. Fifty bucks to meet Shawn Kemp AND hang out with Donaldson campaign manager Cindi Laws? Not bad.
I thought it was how much I give to the Fremont Arts Council each month … oww, he sure is stingy.
If regular old 80 proof Wild Turkey cost $50 I think I’d just become a monk. Then I would have a lifetime to master distilling and fermenting my own booze.
The one thing I miss about California is the $30 bottles of Balvenie Doublewood at TJs.
