…by our Godly bookstore owners.
The owner of a Christian bookstore in Morgan Hill has been arrested for touching a female employee inappropriately, according to police. Richard Dresser, 55, was arrested Saturday after a 23-year-old female employee reported the incident to police. Officers responded to Eternal Treasures bookstore located at 433 Vineyard Town Center and took Dresser to the police department for questioning.
Police say Dresser was interviewed and confessed to the crime. He was arrested and booked into Santa Clara County jail on suspicion of touching intimate part against restrained person, indecent exposure, recording video for pleasure and secretly video taping person when they have an expectation of privacy.
Confession, as they say, is good for the soul. a good lawyer will tell you that it’s bad for the defense:
The owner of a Christian book store in Morgan Hill who was arrested last weekend on suspicion of sexual battery and other charges said he has been falsely accused of inappropriately touching a female employee and secretly videotaping her. Richard Dresser, 55, of Morgan Hill, also denies he confessed to the alleged crimes while being questioned by police….
“If I confessed by signing something, that’s unbeknownst to me,” Dresser told the Morgan Hill paper.

This series seems beneath you, I mean aren’t you smarter than this.
Is this any different than a White supremacist blog that posts every time a black person commits a crime, or a hateful right-wing blog that posts anything bad they can find a gay person did.
??? What good does this do. Everyone knows there are evil and stupid Christians, just as there are good ones.
Love the “unbeknownst” – great word. Not his, though.
By the way, @1, I am Christian and don’t mind this “series” as you call it. The examples you list do not hold water – blogging consistent with stereotype. Here, Dan is focused on hypocracy, against stereotype. He probably would submit a professed gay activist who secretly supports an anti-gay agenda. What we want is transparency – honesty.

Dan is creating in the itty bitty teeny tiny minds of his credulous lackey ass kissing fans a new stereotype.
A false one, to be sure, but who said slog was accurate or fair?
So long as fundies run around claiming that there’s no morality without religion, and that being a Christian, all by itself, makes you a better person—more ethical, more trustworthy—and that other people are immoral sinners by dint of their sexuality or the non-belief or their support for choice or their “lifestyle,” then stories like this are 100% germane. Sorry, douchebags.
“..falsely accused of inappropriately touching a female employee and secretly videotaping her…..also denies he confessed to the alleged crimes while being questioned by police.”
The stupidity of the Caught Hypocrite is unbelievable. Yoo, hooo! Mr. Dresser! They have the ass grab and the confession on video tape. Why are you lying?
@1 and @3 are just pissed off because they can’t claim that this most recent fucktard is a homosexual. They actually prefer when you post the stories about shit heads diddling little boys because they are still having trouble seeing the difference between being attracted to little boys and being attracted to grown men.
When they can’t make futile attempts at mudslinging homosexuals, they whine about the “series” itself.
A lawyer will usually tell you not to “plead guilty”, regardless of how evident your guilt is. It’s an interesting phenomenon, and particularly so when the defendant is in the business of morality.
He wanted to touch her eternal treasures.
The moralists are ALWAYS the creepiest and most perverted. It’s because they are jealous when they know others are enjoying their lives and they, themselves, live in a world of guilt and shame and a fear to live the way they really want.
@10 exactly! It’s like they don’t really care as much about what we do (I guess “we” being normal people with healthy lifestyles and no shame) it is almost like they are more offended that we are not ashamed of ourselves and don’t feel the need to repent. Here they are having all of these “unnatural” feelings that they aren’t allowed to express and can only “confess” to some dude that tells them it is not okay for them to have or act upon those feelings. How shameful that “we” can just be happy and live our lives with guilt or oppression.
Awe … a collective sigh, if you will, at being blessed with the opportunity to be who we are and live the lives that we do.
@11 OOPS!! WITHOUT guilt or oppression … eek … what a sucky typo.

you are the only person I’ve ever heard say that.
@13 all that proves is that not only do you close your ears to those who don’t think like you, but you also are not truly listening that those that you supposedly support.
#5- Dan, as a douche bag, I find it offensive to be compared with these evangelical types. I’ll expect an apology forthwith.
14
wow
you are making some wild assumptions about what I think and who I “support”….

FTW
@16 You’re right I am.
I do apologize for that. In fact, all you said was that he was the only person that you had ever heard say that, and it was entirely out of line for me to even assume that you were saying that in a negative manner, perhaps you just assumed that he was being a “strawman much” because you honestly have never encounter such language.
I may have made the inaccurate assumption that all of the unregistered posts were linked back to you, and the strong offense that many of those posts take to Dan, in general, led me to incur that it was a person with a religious background.
Dan is not the first person that I have ever heard say that. I have heard that and similar things so many times all through out my life. When you openly do not believe in God, you get a lot of that kind of speak from Christians and church goers. Not from all of them of course, but from the most “devout.”
Therefore I placed my own experiences on you with the inaccurate thinking “How can you have missed it!!” in my mind.

I haven’t read all of the posts here, but as for me and my husband and some of our close friends, we are of the opinion that it is the responsibility of the Christian community to really around the victims of predators and come to their aid. My husband was actually able to help aprehend a pedophile who is now doing 17 w/o parole for child molestation on a plea bargain.
It is a misconception in the Christian church that those who prey on the weak believers (professed) or not must be remanded to the God ordained authority of the police. The government is not our enemy, they are in fact an institution ordained of God to punish evil doers. We as believers do not have the right to perform our own form of law enforcement within the church which is ultimately church discipline. Church discipline is for overt and unrepented of sin, but violating the law is exactly a violation of the law.
consequences of sin that are temporal and not the ultimate, the consequences on earth may cause repentance and save one from eternal damnation.
Update: The subject of the story, Christian bookstore owner Richard Dresser, pleaded no contest and was sentenced to six months in Santa Clara County jail and three years of probation, and will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
