He’s in Hawaii with his family, and the White House pool reports suggest he’s been spending a lot of the time golfing and working out. Here’s one report from yesterday that I enjoyed:

Your pool encountered a group from Toronto who had just seen the president at the gym. They reported that Obama was working out with free weights and shooting a few baskets. The president had stopped to sign an autograph for the 10-year-old girl in the group. At McDonald’s, she showed off her journal, where Obama had written “To Kyrstin —Dream big dreams!” and signed his name. Kyrstin Lavelle said Obama was “really nice.”

Kyrstin said she gave Obama flowers. The president joked that he would give them to Michelle and say that he picked them, Kyrstin said.

I assume the president will step up his gift-giving game this morning.
