Do you have strong feelings about the proposed light rail station (.pdf) that will maybe never someday replace Capitol Hill’s trendy new abyss? Who doesn’t! There’s talk of bicycle parking! And buskers! And color-blocked buildings with crazy balconies! And other various sundry attempts to be European.
But for all their joyful talk, the city masterminds who came up with this crazy plan are only taking public comment on it until tomorrow, so if you don’t share your deeply-held convictions on the new design right now, it will be like you don’t have an opinion on it at all! (Ouch.) Do it before you you wake up Wednesday morning full of regret over not sharing your concerns, comments, two-part questions, problematic findings, gender theory readings, worries for the children, etc. Yikes!

Why submit ideas now, when Seattle’s calling card is to wait until the last possible minute, when its way too late to object to anything going on. Even if you live across the street from this, you can still claim “I didnt know about any of this!!!”. Then gather signatures and force a vote.
NOTE: Any public bathrooms will simply be used for drunks and addicts. In the event one completely forgets about those million dollars toilets that the city installed years ago.
Anything that worked out AWESOME in Europe, has a 50/50 chance at working out here.
@1: You forgot to mention our Mayors’ WAR ON CARS or the Monorail. Please remedy this in the future with any other stupid ramblings in threads where Seattle actually gets anything done to your extreme distress.
…Are we sure we really want a light rail station here? I live nearby and I thought they were just expanding the park. I think a park would be a lot nicer. Let’s get together and sue to stop this madness!
I’m way more excited by the even more bike-friendly light rail stations going in at Husky Stadium and next to the Neptune (as in, literally braced against the building).
There’s a Brooklyn Station Open House at the Hotel Deca Grand Ballroom on NE 45th and Brooklyn this Thursday from 6 to 8:30 pm.
why so negative? and why is the plan “crazy”? – just looked through it and it all seems to make sense to me. CH is about to change for the better, more transportation/housing/retail options coming to this neighborhood.
