1. Boris Yeltsin: dead.

2. Don Knotts: also dead.

  1. My brother was pissed at me once cause I didn’t let him meet Yeltsin when he came to Vancouver, even though I had one of the invites – mostly cause he wanted to meet Bill Clinton.

Can’t say I was that interested in it, sadly, but if it had been Don Knotts I so would have wanted to meet him – the guy was so funny that I can’t imagine that wouldn’t have been neat.

So, Yeltsin – important at the time, had a drinking problem, changed the world … but still Don Knotts would have been way more interesting to meet.

(yes, met Bill a few times, but usually on rope lines, guy is tall and very friendly, never met either Yeltsin or Knotts, wish I’d met Knotts – still do)

  2. There’s also the opposite condition when you think a celebrity is dead, but they actually aren’t…I had that moment last week with Ricardo Montalban, after watching Wrath of Khan.
