NYT:

“Pole dancing for Jesus” was irresistible. Ms. Deans’s class has been covered by television stations and newspapers around the country, and Web sites including AOL, The Huffington Post and, for whatever reason, the Web site of The Advocate, a magazine for gay men and lesbians….

“This has helped a lot of people,” she said of her classes. “It’s helped people with weight. It’s helped people spice up their marriages. It’s done a lot of good things.” Ms. Deans is mindful, on those Sunday afternoons when she instructs the women who have come straight from church to class, to play only Christian music. She has, she said, nothing to be ashamed of.

I wonder if evangelicals would be more comfortable with gay relationships if we promised to play only Christian music during our pole dances.

  1. Christians on the whole should be down with all forms of sexual activity. The names of God and Jesus are invoked more sincerely during Saturday night sex than Sunday morning service.

  2. It’s a real shame that (some) Christians can’t seem to just enjoy good old fashioned pole dancing/rock music/movies/books/whatever for its own sake, without shoehorning it into being somehow explicitly “Christian”.
