Seattle police were called to Discovery Park to last Tuesday after two female joggers were accosted by a man masturbating along a trail in the park.
According to a police report, two women were jogging in the south end of the park around 8:00 PM when they spotted a man running on the trail about 20 yards ahead of them. The women “thought he looked like a child because of the clothes he was wearing,” the report says, although it does not describe what the man was wearing.
The man ran into the bushes and when the women reached the spot where he had disappeared, they found the man standing near the edge of the trail with his shorts around his ankles. “He was staring at them while masturbating,” the report says.
The women started yelling at the man, but he continued masturbating, the report says, even after one of the women threw a water bottle at him. The women then found another person in the park and used their cell phone to call 911.
Witnesses then saw the man fleeing the park in a red Subaru, which police were able to link to a 28-year-old man who matched a description given by the women. The report does not indicate that police made an arrest.
