Seattle police are looking for suspects in a Saturday morning stabbing at an Aurora motel.
According to a police report, a woman told officers that a man knocked on her motel room door at the Fremont Innโformerly the Thunderbird Motelโat about 3:00 AM. She looked through the peephole and did not recognize the man and told him to go away, the report says. The man at the door said the woman, and a 43-year-old man who was with her in the room, “knew who he was.”
The 43-year-old man went outside to talk to the other manโwho was with five other people, some of whom were inside an older model gold Cadillac, the report saysโand shut the door.
The woman in the room told police she heard a scuffle, opened the door, and saw the Cadillac fleeing south on Aurora. The 43-year-old man was laying on the ground, shouting that he’d been stabbed.
Two off-duty Army soldiers came out of a nearby room, took off their shirts, and attempted to stop the bleeding. The soldiers began loading the 43-year-old man into a truck to transport him to the hospital when police and medics showed up. The 43-year-old man was transported to Harborview. The report does not contain any information about his condition, but notes that the man sustained “severe lacerations” during the incident.
The police report indicates the victim of the stabbing identified a 45-year-old Seattle man as his assailant, but it does not appear that SPD has arrested anyone in the case.

Mmmm — lurid.
were the off duty soldiers having sex?
Old gold Caddy at 3:00 am? Nothing good can come from that.
Yeah we are not hearing the whole story on this one.
What’s an off duty soldier? They get to be off duty? I thought they were on duty for years, until their time was up.
Sounds like a pimp stabbing a john to me.
Why don’t we get some hipster avant garde artist troupe to stage some sort of performance art vigil? It would be all the rage and send a statement to the establishment!
#7) Absolutely. Also through something in about quilts. Quilts are a way that women expressed themselves back in pioneer days when they had little freedom or rights. What does this have to do with quilts? Maybe there were some quilts on the beds. Anyway, it’s one more way we can empower women. Quilts.
I miss living near Aurora. Except the times at 3 a.m. that the hookers would have fights with their johns on my front steps. Or the needles tossed in the bushes in front of my apartment building. Or the pimps beating up their ho’s at 4 a.m. Or getting threatened by drugged-up loons just for trying to walk up the sidewalk to go home. Or the constant parade of junkies and cheap cracked out slags strutting up and down the block. Aurora is a special place.
Fremont – a happening place!
@8..I SWEAR ..I am learning to quilt because I wanted to keep all my old band t-shirts and didn’t know what else to do with them!
Can’t wear em’ quilt em!
That’s it; I’m going to obtain an “older gold Cadillac” for myself. Consequences be damned, bonus for convertible.
Never open a motel/hotel room door for strangers! Especially on Aurora. I am with Julie @ 6- sounds like some low class work going on at the T-Bird.
Despite the good intentions of the soldiers, you should almost never transport someone to the hospital yourself in an emergency. Call 911 and wait for the EMTs to arrive so they can start administering aid immediately.
Bonus: the EMTs have sirens and those cool flashing lights to make people get out of the way.
Another bonus: the EMTs know how to get to the hospital ERs.
Get stabbed….”Right off the highway”!
