  1. Listening to the scanner they just responded to a query as to whether or not victim was alive with a “negative”.

Quick work. Maybe they’ll bury him in the B-210

  2. It would be astoundingly unfortunate if he were dead. Not because dead is an inappropriate state for him. But because it would make it much harder to confirm the ifs and the whys and the whats of the Brenton murder.

Then they could kill him afterwards.

  3. can I get that car? I used to drive around in one when I was much younger and willing to pay a nice price for it. A healthy donation to the Benevolent fund or such.

  4. I love all the whiners in the P-I’s comments: “But what about due process?” You pull a gun on a cop, you don’t get any, fuck-face. Deal with it.

  5. They’re reporting the car is similar to the description of the cop-killer. They’re also reporting that they’re talking to “witnesses” in Tukwila.

If it’s him, please don’t let him be dead. I want him to tell us why.

  6. i’m sure they’ll examine the gun and the bullets fired from it to see if it was in fact the same weapon used last Saturday. If so, they found their man. Case closed. Kudos to the cops for saving tax payers from paying for the legal costs and hundreds of thousands of dollars that would’ve been spent incarcerating this guy for the rest of his life.

Do you get due process if you pull a gun on someone who is not employed as a police officer, or do we all get to shoot at anyone who pulls out a gun in a threatening manner?

It’s a serious question. I don’t know if you mean that obviously cops will forgo our legal system and take direct action on their own under such circumstances, or that obviously when you pull a gun on someone you’re likely to get shot by that person if he or she has a gun.

  8. The suspect, 41, liked to play his electric guitar too loud. Motherfucker. The racists on here will be sorry to hear that he appears to be white.

  9. Phil, the minute you pull a gun on anyone, that person becomes judge, jury and executioner. He, of course, will then be judged by his peers.

  10. @15:

Given the circumstances, I agree the responding officers really had no choice in order to protect themselves and the general public. But, a lot of the PI comments seem to fall under the general rubrick of “he was a suspect ergo shoot first, ask questions later”, as if mere suspicion were tantamount to guilt, and it’s that attitude I find disturbing.

The dude pulled a piece;stupid move on his part and one that, from the sound of things, got him shot good and dead. So be it. But that means there will be a lot of unanswered questions hanging out there, ones that may never be satisfactorily answered as the MIGHT have been had the suspect gone through a trial-by-jury.

One can only HOPE they got the right guy AND that detectives will uncover incontrovertible evidence of that fact. Otherwise, we have to face the possibility there’s a cop-killer still on the loose, and frankly, until we know for certain one way or the other there will be a lot of people out there – including a lot of cops I would imagine – who won’t rest easy until the matter is settled decisively.

  11. Three high profile shootings (Seattle, Texas, Florida), all of them white men. As are almost all mass murderers, serial killers, wife beaters, corporate looters, and domestic terrorists. White men are the scum of the earth.

  12. Actually, the killer sounds like the typical whining, ‘where’s my social justice’ slogger:

“UW graduate school abstract, the title of a project Monfort presented in May 2007 was ” The Power of Citizenship your Government doesn’t want You to know about. How to change the inequity of the Criminal Justice System immediately, through Active Citizen Nullification of Laws, as a Juror.”

  13. “Three high profile shootings (Seattle, Texas, Florida), all of them white men. “

Well give Monford credit, he was only half white. Maybe that was the half that got the BA at UW?

  14. @21,

You are a fucking moron. Not that I think it matters, and I don’t want to bait the race trolls, but the guy in Texas was Jordanian, and the guy in Florida was hispanic. This guy was half black, half white. At least get your trolling facts straight.
