Seattle police have shut down 2nd Avenue between Marion and Madison street after a suspicious package was found outside of the Henry M. Jackson federal building earlier this morning. The bomb squad has been called in. More updates if anything happens.

  1. they’re just trying to justify the bomb squad budget not being cut, that’s all – if you paid attention to city budget politics, you’d know this.

You’d also know that the whole “raison-d’etre” for the bomb squad was an artist leaving a car parked on Westlake Mall with some bumper stickers, only one of which said “this is da bomb”.

But, hey, it’s not like you have any idea where your tax dollars go …

I’ve seen this overreaction by them many many many times before – almost always when their budget was in danger of being cut.

Now, I’d like my tofu burger back, if you don’t mind.
