First they took its caffeine and taurine away. Now Four Loko has to say how much alcohol is actually in it. If we elect one of those fine Republicans, perhaps we can roll back all this food-and-beverage regulatory-safety nonsense, and let the buyer beware of powerful alcoholic beverages that look and taste like candy!

  1. Um … wait … people actually take the word of the government on what’s safe to eat anyway? Really? People are that stupid?

  2. @1 – Whose advice do you recommend? I’ll take the gumm’t’s half-assed consumer advocacy over trusting ConAgra’s good intentions any day.

  3. @2 is spot on. I usually describe 4loko as Kool-Aid mixed with Steel Reserve. Or fruit flavored battery acid. Either works.

  4. The Four Loko can was never deceptive, if anything the alcohol % was an advertisement. I’m all for resealable containers though, easier to jam in your backpack when you need to run from the cops!

  5. @1: “Um … wait … people actually take the word of the government on what’s safe to eat anyway? Really? People are that stupid?”

Yet another Paultard who doesn’t think companies should have to disclose the contents of any consumable product.

  6. A ‘regular’ beer is 4.5 to 5.5 abv.

A shitty beer made out of rice and corn *bud, natty, pabst, et all is 2.5 to 3.6.

    Truth in labeling!
