Gregory Korte at USA Today says:
President Obama will propose two years of free community college for American workers in Tennessee on Friday, as part of his three-state tour this week to preview his State of the Union Address.
In the video posted above, Obama says he wants to make community college “free for anybody willing to work for it.” Find more details at WhiteHouse.gov. This would be a huge deal if it happened. I don’t expect it to happen, but it’s definitely a worthy cause for Obama to champion, and if enough Americans support the plan, Republicans in Congress might have to concede the issue.
I’ve gotta say, between this and his shift in Cuba policy, I like Lame Duck Obama a whole lot.
