JoeMyGod:

You may recall the deranged “ex-gay” advocate Richard Cohen, whose ridiculous “reparative therapies” such as beating out one’s homosexual tendencies with a tennis racket and a pillow became the laughingstock of YouTube. Well, it turns out that Cohen isn’t quite the relatively harmless lunatic we all thought. His book’s completely fabricated “statistics” about gays “recruiting” and molesting children (courtesy of fellow mental patient Paul Cameron) are being used to promote Uganda’s “kill gays” bill. Last night Rachel Maddow ripped him to pieces. When Cohen attempts to deny some of his words, Rachel blasts, “I’m reading it from your book, dude.”

Part two of Rachel’s interview/confrontation/asswhupping after the jump.

  1. DSM-IV codes (via Wikipedia) for sexual and gender identity disorders:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DSM-IV_Code…

DSM-IV and ICD are pretty much in sync (kinda), so if it’s in one it’s usually in the other, but maybe coded a little differently (ICD-9 has sadism/masochism in one code, DSM-IV has them split apart).

The ICD and DSM need to seriously fixt this stuff, cuz to me the only time its a “disorder” is if your sexuality/gender identification bothers you. Like some kind of “Sexual orientation dissonance” or “Gender dissonance” or something like that. IMO. But I’m not a therapist/psychologist/etc.

On topic: I watched this segment, and count me as another gay guy who wants to have Rachel Maddow’s babies.

  2. @102:

    103’s post is batshit crazy.

You’d be better served to visit HRC’s website or some other national org’s pages for some trans 101.

  3. @108: You’re funny. You’re also naïve.

Even your own brethren, trans i am, say that HRC and other “national org’s” (sic) give the FU to transgenders like you. It appears HRC have foreclosed this way on your fellow transgenders time and again for pretty much the bulk of their entire existence, and for probably much longer than you’ve actually been out as a transgender.

So I will listen to my life experiences and those of my worldly peers who I’ve known for a very, very long time before I’ll listen to a transgender who callowly believes that American entities like the HRC actually have your best interest in mind, much less anyone else’s. Moreover, try to find a less ambiguous glossary anywhere else that speaks in the plain language found in @103. Better yet, substantiate how any of the above are, uh, “batshit crazy” with your own glossary, which I’m sure is quite excellent.

Incidentally, the next time you get invited to one of their “inclusive” dinners, trans i am, let everybody know about it.

  4. No, dipshit. Irony is Tom Snyder, during his run of the Late Show, kicking off his program with “Fire up the colortinis. I’m T.S.” My response: “Jesus fucking christ, Tom: another miad*. Just what we need.” The only irony in Telsa Grills is its nod to dyslexia. Google it.

Also, this thread has about as much to do with teabagging, as you Americans call it, as Patricia Ireland has to do with a warren of bunnies. It’s about calling you out as a tool.

    * man in a dress. As in, “Have a look in your mirror, trans you is.”
