- The son of a Texas congressman who frequently ran for president says he’s had enough of political dynasties, and that’s why you should vote for him for president!
With Mitt Romney out of the 2016 presidential race, the clear frontrunners are Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush again. Those two very familiar last names will be the cause of a whole lot of voter fatigue in the coming months, and everyone else in the race will be desperate to point out the fact that American politics aren’t meant to be dynastic. The first big attack on Clinton and Bush comes from Rand Paul, who published a skit on Soundcloud featuring Clinton and Bush (to put it charitably) soundalikes arguing over whose turn it is to win the White House. It’s corny and awkward, but it makes Paul’s case very clearly:
The downside to this strategy of arguing against Clinton and Bush is that it could point out the failings of the entire two-party system to the American public. Rather than making the perfect case for Rand Paul, Paul—himself the beneficiary of his father’s political clout—could instead be making the case for a third party candidate.
