I would like to see a majority President Obama. I would like that a lot.
So how long has it been since a president was elected with more than 50% of ballots cast?
If Obama can not pull this off then the Democrat Party needs to go the way of the Whigs…
And just think, when he wins he can tell the Clinton’s to fuck off once and for all!!!!
@3 – I agree 100% on both counts.
As pleased as I am that we’re about to have our first black president, I’m also concerned it may be a poisoned chalice, as we as a nation are fucked. God willing, Obama can put together a positive program of Roosevelt’s caliber that can turn the country around enough so that by 2012, he gets a second term and has the country on the right track.
Can we please focus on some of the down ticket elections. They are crucial if real change is to be effected.
stop worrying about the impending doom being blamed on Democrats or Obama. It’d be a thousand times better to have Obama as Prez in this situation and have his reputation tarnished than otherwise.
I worry about white voter racism no matter what the polls say:

Even better, of projected elections where Obama loses Ohio, he still wins the presidency 55% of the time. That number has been increasing steadily as Obama picks up EVs in unexpected states. If it keeps up Obama will probably only have to win Ohio OR Michigan.
The most important post-debate stat seems to be the likeability factor, which Obama leads 61% to 26% (according to the CNN snap poll). Barring a major gaffe or scandal, the most likeable guy always wins.
@7 We’re Democrats. Worrying is what we do.
