Dominic highlights endorsements made by a right winger over at Sound Politics.

This reminds me of my way-back days at horsesass.org, when I wrote this about Sound Politics and the endorsements of the blog’s founder (and former Stranger contributor) Stefan Sharkansky:

One big piece of advice to anyone running for city council:

Donโ€™t let Stefan endorse you. Donโ€™t email him campaign updates. Hope he doesnโ€™t write about your campaign in any way favorable. Make no mistake, Stefan is the โ€œKiss of Deathโ€. Just ask Robert Rosencrantz and Casey Corr, who both got hammered (Rosencrantz twice!) in city races. Iโ€™m amazed that Seattleโ€™s preeminent wingnut blogger doesnโ€™t understand how radioactive he is.

Sharkansky later endorsed Bruce Harrell, whoโ€”thanks to his opponent’s car-related incidentโ€”coasted to victory.

Does Harrell prove that Sound Politics is no longer the “kiss of death”? Maybe. But Harrell’s victory was more the result of a mistake by his opponent. A Rosencrantz victory won’t be tagged with an asterisk, but he should take note:

Mike O’Brien rides a bike. Everywhere.
