  1. How very sad. It makes me want to break out a bottle of red wine, but I’m not sure I can afford one.

I wonder what I’ll do. Any ideas?

  2. #1, come on already. The obit is funny, sad and apt. Feel bad for the families of anyone who croaks tomorrow and is subject to the indignity of being hyperlinked on the P-I site.

  3. In all seriousness Dan… this is getting out of control!

Can we just have an ECB stole a bottle of wine post and get this BS over with?

Everyone wants their pound of flesh, and this will at least allow us to comment normally on other posts without them being hijacked by this craziness.

Why are you being so hypocritical and not doing it?

    Seriously?

There should have been an entry for “The Stranger, Gay Daily Blog, Seattle, March 17th.

    *sigh*

    No credibility or accountability.

  4. @10 You’re acting like a 3 year old.

I WANT IT! I WANT IT! I WANT IT!

Just STFU and maybe you’ll get it. And if you don’t, maybe by then you’ll find something more productive to do.

  5. @10,

Concern troll is concerned. Your use of the phrase “pound of flesh” makes it clear that this isn’t a credible call for honesty and the airing of dirty laundry. Get a fucking life.

Don’t forget what happened to Shylock when he demanded his pound of flesh.

  6. BLANKENSHIP: Michael P., 15. of Kent, March 10.

Forever immortalized by the demise of the Seattle PI.

As an aside: I still remember a random obit that our grade school teacher brought into class back in 1975 of a young man who was really no one special but the picture of his face, his glasses, the trees in the background, are forever ingrained in my memory.

  7. Pictures of Frank Blethen’s car are newsworthy for SLOG, but the news editor gets charged with shoplifting and it’s “Move along nothing to see here.”

    Nice.

  8. Since the P-I is keeping their online version, maybe they’ll still be able to report on the local alt-weekly news editor that was busted for stealing an $8.99 bottle of wine. It would be good for their ratings; that post on Capitol Hill Blog has like 900 views.

  9. I am so with you @23. If there’s two things I hate it’s professional journalism and informed opinion. And everyone knows that reading is for losers!
