Dead from a car accident, according to TMZ.
TMZ spoke with Randy’s brother, Lanny Poffo, who tells us the wrestling legend suffered a heart attack while he was behind the wheel around 9:25 AM … and lost control of his vehicle.
Earlier this month, Savage celebrated his 1-year anniversary with his new wife Lynn.
Savage was 58.
I still think about this at least once a day:

Do the authorities have the body? Because I’m just saying, if anyone was gonna be raptured…
R.I.P sweet prince.
The Macho Man is now where he belongs, with Miss Elizabeth at his side in the Big Ring in the Sky.
Is Miss Elizabeth dead too? She was a cutie. I had no idea Leaping Lanny Poffo, the Poet Laureate of the WWF, was his brother! This is indeed a sad, sad day.
Too many steroids. I mean, fifty eight says it all.
Miss Elizabeth died of an OD in Lex Luger’s house, of all places.
God he was only 58? I would have thought late 60s early 70s.
Still as someone who liked wrestling for about 2 year in 4th/5th grade, this makes me sad. I need to re-find that dead wrestler blog I stumbled onto a year or so ago, that was a good read.
Pitty, she was re-married 6 months ago.
He stole that falling wall/door gag from Buster Keaton.

It’s some of the best sportswriting on the web. No joke.
My spot on Macho Man imitation isn’t much comfort to me right now. This is a bummer. The guy was easily one of the 5 best ever at his profession.
Vince@5: well, we’ve yet to hear the final coronor’s report, but my understanding is that he died from injuries sustained in the car accident, not the heart attack itself. Could’ve happened to anyone, steroids or no.
