Led by reporter Hal Bernton, some Seattle Times journalists, Pacific Northwest Newspaper Guild members, and “area journalism students” will be holding a thank-you rally at 5 p.m. this evening at the Seattle Post-Intelligencer headquarters on Elliott Avenue. Why?

Apart from P-I workers themselves, perhaps no other group of people will miss the P-I as much as their Times colleagues.

  1. You make it sound like Times’ employees are happy to see the P-I go down.

    I can assure, that is not the case. This is a sad day for all journalists, not just P-I employees.

    You should put aside your petty tirade against the Times for a second and see that.

  2. Even when a pro sports team has lost the big game, there’s always some fans there at the airport to let them know that their efforts were appreciated.

    It’s odd how I felt like something similar should be done for the P-I…and I’m glad that it is being arranged by their peers.
