That King County Council member Dow Constantine has raised around $50,000 since announcing his bid for county executive last month. Although new fundraising numbers aren’t out yet, Constantine’s opponent, county council member Larry Phillips, reporting raising a little under $9,000 in all of January.

  1. Somebody is polling voters on this race already.

Either that Hunter guy or Dow or Larry.

I’ll find out at the groundbreaking at Husky Stadium today.

  2. @2 – There is a ton of energy behind Dow. With the type of money he is raising, other folks even thinking about running are probably being scared off.

  3. Really Erica, would it be that hard to look at what Phillips raised in 2007? He knew full well then that he was going to run for Exec back then. Here, I’ll do the work for you: he raised close to $280K and barely spent any of it. All he has to do is get permission to transfer it & that’s a hell of a lot more than $9K.

  4. @8: Phillips has been transfering that money for months–it represents most of what he’s “raised” for Exec to date. But, with Constantine in the race, Larry’s having a harder and harder time getting people to approve the transfers.

    This race is getting good.
