So says about a million parts of the internet

From Politico:

Conservative radio talk host Rush Limbaugh was rushed to a Honolulu hospital on Wednesday afternoon with chest pains, sources told KITV.

Paramedics responded to the call at 2:41 p.m. at the Kahala Hotel and Resort.

Limbaugh suffered from chest pains, sources said. Paramedics treated him and took him to Queen’s Medical Center in serious condition.

  1. I wonder if he’s had “End of Life” counseling with his doctors….a.k.a. “DEATH PANEL”.

…you know, just in case he should end up in a coma.

    (?)

  2. ‘…Limbaugh told emergency crews that he was having chest pains and had been taking medication for back trouble….’
. store bought drugs are not to be messed with.

  3. According to the news, “he’s resting peacefully in his room”. I hope he had a near death experience and got slapped with some sense by some dead gay relative who told him to get the fuck out and he wasn’t welcomed until he started apologizing to people. yes i know.. Wishful thinking…

  4. I love you, Slog commenters. I knew I could come here and find others hoping as fervently and unashamedly as I am for the demise of that fat fucking bastard.

  5. Hey, in 1984, by George Orwell, wasn’t there that thing where everybody looks at some dude’s picture and they all just get ANGRY at it for two minutes… It was called something like the Two Minute Hate. Where everybody just booed and hissed and made mean faces for two whole minutes. Just to get it out of their system. Or something like that.

Is this it? Did I get here late?

  6. Rush is just too good for this wicked depraved sodomy-soaked cesspool of a society.
He will be mercifully taken away before the final collapse.
(by the same loving entity that took Sonny before he had to see the whole Chastity/Chucky fiasco)

  7. @37 I like the long-term vegetable ending. That way, all the millions he’s made by hustling hate & lies can be rapidly absorbed by the private health care system he so loves. At a rate of about $2m per week, he would only have a couple of years to be a laughing stock for the world.
Finally, all those vegetable jokes that are usually in bad taste will be acceptable!

  8. jesus, you guys ever heard of not sinking to their level? of not fitting in to the liberal stereotype? this is what the internets are for i guess…snark and hate.

my new year’s resolution is to get as far away from this shit as possible.

  9. no, i’m not anti-fun. i’m just pointing out the obvious. if your idea of fun is to wish death on someone you don’t agree with, have at it. just don’t get pissed when someone you like has a health issue and the other side wishes them dead.

  10. @71

Oh no, I don’t wish death, I wish the #43 on him with some modification…I’d rather he couldn’t speak at all after his stroke, and only sit mum on the sidelines as the world mocks him, till the end of his days.

    dp

  11. @ 71 – gee. Someone wishing death on me would be… well, pointless since wishes don’t kill anyone. So it won’t bother me like you think it might.

  12. This decade started off horribly, with the “election” of GWB. It would be so wonderful if the next decade started off wonderfully, with the death of a conservative figurehead.

  13. Yeah, ’cause Rush himself is a veritable fount of humanity and compassion…

Rush’s entire career has been spent belittling, abusing, and hating on anyone who disagrees with him – yet, his defenders get their Underoos all twisted the moment someone else decides to pour a little sauce on that goose.

I believe the proper aphorism to describe this would be: “he can dish it out, but he can’t take it.”

  14. dunno if that last comment was directed at me, but i am certainly not a rush defender. i think the guy is scum, pure and simple.

here’s another saying for ya…2 wrongs don’t make a right.

  15. @68 good. bye-bye. cheerio! We all wish death on him because he’s a mean-spirited piece of shit who does everything in his power to attack and discredit anyone who disagrees with him and treats anyone he feels is beneath him like scum. There are plenty of Right-wingers that I disagree with, but don’t wish death on (like, say, John McCain), because I believe that fundamentally, they are decent people that genuinely feel that they are doing what’s right. The fact of the matter is that Rush Limbaugh is human garbage and he deserves to die.

    anyhow.

I suppose he pulled through… I have to admit a grudging admiration for his sheer fortitude, given that he’s a morbidly obese, drug-addicted prick who chain-smokes stogies.

Fucker definitely rolled an 18 on Con at first level.

    Jesus, I’m a nerd.

  16. COMTE @ 43,

That truly would be a Karmic end to Rush Limbaugh’s life and fortunes. It couldn’t happen to a more deserving soul. If only Bill O’Reilly, Glenn Beck, Michele Bachmann, Jim DeMint (SC), Sam Brownback (KS) and Rep. Randy Forbes (VA), Shirley Dobson, the entire Phelps clan could meet a similar end.

    One can only dream.

  17. While neither a major drinker nor a connoisseur of fine winery, I have a magnum of Constellation Cook’s California Brut I inherited from an overstocked wedding. Does that count?

Limbaugh is stable so far. It’s doubtful he’s going to die this time around.

  18. @83: No, Magic Lemur, the problem is that when this troll was down, they didn’t finish him off with acid or fire, so now he’s had time to regenerate.

  19. #68,& 71 it’s too late at this point ..this thread is prolly deader than rush… but why is it that some folks think that wishing death on someone is bad..?.. or wishing death is a liberal construct ? ( wasn’t it jerry falwell that used to pray for people he didn’t like to die ?) we’re all gonna die. rush is a believer of the afterlife, so he’d be happier in it. i’d be happier with him there ..sounds like a win-win…he didn’t want to die because he’s got some more meaness bile he’d like to spread around.. wishing death on him doesn’t sound wrong to me….not morally, certainly not spiritually, and i an’t do anything practically to hasten his death..
    and i don’t feel bad..

  20. I think it was Pat Robertson on the 700 club that prayed publicly for two vacancies in the US Supreme Court. He got them, but didn’t get the Roe v. Wade overturn for which he was hoping.

It’s not an example I’d follow with a clear conscience, but then again, I’d rather our listenership wise up enough to make a drinking game out of Limbaugh. e.g. take a drink whenever he says “Liberal Wackos”.
