  1. By the way, I caught Saturday’s game, but I haven’t seen any of the others and probably won’t catch the remaining ones. Do they sing God Bless America when the game is in San Francisco, too?

I thought it was appropriate that during yesterdays game they announced that the performance of the song is a tribute to the troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. I’m disappointed that they didn’t also dedicate it to GWB for putting them there in the first place.

  2. Can we use this Halloween Sunday to put to rest the whole zombie apocalypse meme? It’s far past boring, if it was ever entertaining at all.

  3. Yes, @3, they sing God Bless America at every World Series Game, including San Fran. Game 2 was sung by Tony Bennett (a capella, he killed) and Game 1, if I remember correctly, was sung by some lady in a hat shaped like a birthday cake.

  4. Madison just made history. the rookie shut the rangers down and then the beard closed it. great game and I hate the Giants and the Rangers.

    fear the beard!

  5. @12

Damn, I guess I’m glad I haven’t been to any the last few years. Bet all those Latin American players really get a kick out of it. Also the Asian players.

  6. During the regular season “God Bless America” is sung only during Sunday games (at least in Seattle). It’s also last call for beer, so it’s a great time to leave your seat. Fuck that song. And George Bush.
