SATURDAY: Most people only interact with cops when they’re being ticketed. But Seattle Police Department wants to change that, so they’re inviting Seattle residents to join them for SPD’s first-of-the-season Picnic at the East Precinct this Saturday.

It’ll be like watching The Wire IRL! It will be nothing like watching The Wire IRL.

SPD promises to provide food, fun, dancing, and children-friendly games. Precinct tours will be offered. Laughter will be shared. Bean dip will be plentiful. If you don’t live in the East Precinct, don’t feel left outโ€”SPD will be hosting a slew of picnics all over the city throughout the summer. They hope to see you there.

(Saturday, June 18, SPD East Precinct, 1519 12th Avenue, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., free)

  1. And for you lucky few (well people who’s skin maybe a little too…dark) you can have a free warrant search! Come on down!!!

  2. But if they’re all at the picnic, who will carry on with the important work of busting responsible citizens for drinking in Cal Anderson and Volunteer?!?!
