Tomorrow: Show Congress that you support women’s access to subsidized family planning services, birth control, life-saving cancer screenings, and testing for HIV and other diseases by rallying with Planned Parenthood at Cal Anderson Park tomorrow at noon.

Lawmakers are in the midst of budget negotiations. If conservative members of Congress get their way, Planned Parenthood could lose up to 1/3 of its funding for these vital health care services.

Wear pink! Show your support! And remember: Every time a Republican legislator votes to undercut family planning the nation advances one step closer to a Margaret Atwood hellscape. Tomorrow you can demonstrate that you wonโ€™t go quietly to their handmaid future. (Cal Anderson Park, 1635 11th Ave, noon, free)

  1. @2 no, you’re confusing the pro-offshoring US Chamber of Commerce with the more reasonable Seattle Chamber of Commerce.

Although you are correct about the tax increases on the middle class and the poor to pay for corporate tax exemptions, which really should be subject to a mandatory 2/3 Vote of the People every 2 to 4 years.

  2. Why does the info link “require” an RSVP to the event?! What, are they going to turn us away if we show up without being on their list? “Get the hell outta here, you supportive gate-crashers!”

  3. i’m pretty sure they won’t turn you away, it’s not like there will even be gates. they just want your contact info. just go.
