Seattle Public Schools announced today morning that it has canceled all events after 12:35 p.m. because of snow and unpredictable weather conditions.
That means:
1. Middle school and high school students will be dismissed at 12:35 p.m. as announced early this morning.
2. No parent-teacher conferences will be held at elementary and K-8 schools after 12:35 p.m.
3. No after-school or evening activities.
4. Tonight’s Student Assignment Transition Plan Northwest region meeting at Ingraham High School has been canceled.
The district will monitor conditions closely overnight and decide by 5:30 a.m. tomorrow about operations for Tuesday.

What about this from the Times:
The Superintendent and one of her top staffers (along with various other staff) have been lying about a high school graduation statistic for months. This has been parroted by any number of “community groups like the Alliance for Education and the Seattle Foundation as justification for “ed reform”.
It’s disgusted and someone’s head needs to roll.
If we can’t believe statistics coming from the district, there is no credibility left.

I grew up in Montana, where it was not unusual to have snow on the ground for at least four months out of the year, so I find it endlessly amusing how the Seattle area collectively shits itself at the sight of snow.
