New York has a huge excess of single women, whereas Seattle has an excess of single men.
I don’t know how that plays into the satisfaction/condom/birth rate rankings, but, well, it seemed relevant to me.
Obviously, Seattle needs a really big sign that says: Give Us Your Women, New York!
This endless series of posts about New York only proves the following: How much time do people in the rest of the United States spend thinking about New York? A lot. How much time do New Yorkers spend thinking about your town? Very little.
I’ve lived in both and currently live in neither. Sorry Seattle, but you lose this fight and you’re only making it worse by trying way, way too hard.
If by Seattle they include King County then my dissatisfaction alone probably dragged Seattle from 9th place to 15th.
Still. That’s not why I moved here.
Everybody knows that, when talking about Seattle, you never talk about the Eastside.
Just like, when talking about New York City, you never talk about anywhere other than Manhattan.
I don’t pretend to know why our Strangers picked today to scuff up for a fight with the Big Apple. I just take it as mildly funny.
But as many have opined: Seattle needs more New York in it. And New York could do with a good dose of Seattle. Hopefully this shcoolyard[sic] dust-up will further that goal somehow.
(Too fucking bad that the Village Voice is owned by those turncoats at New Times. Anti-revolutionary jerks.).
That said, it’s well known that Seattle has better sex oveyrall.

:>)
New Yorkers just have higher standards.
@3:
Spoken like a true resident of an empire upon which the sun set long, long ago…
@7:
Apparently that “standard” involves mostly fucking people who don’t object when you don’t wear a love-glove…
@1: Seattle needs to throw on a sport coat and offer to buy New York a drink.
Does it have to be one of those fruity cocktails? How about a stiff martini with a twist instead?
People with lagging libidos paying way too much for appetizers, but also with decent public transit and endless cultural options. These are their stories. DUN DUN.
The City of the Big Shoulders makes the top 10 overall. Now what?
Just another way we are superior amongst this country’s metropolitan areas.
Of course they’re unsatisfied, that’s why they moved to New York in the first place. New York City is a global magnet for the type of people who are difficult to satisfy, people with big appetites and big ambitions. If New Yorkers manage to succeed in getting satisfaction they move to Connecticut. If they wear themselves out looking for satisfaction, they move to Portland.
LOL. One of my best friends went from Seattle to New York for ten years and is now in Portland.
@14 FTW. For the very logical, analytically brilliant, if arch, win!
