SPD detectives, working with the U.S. Army’s Criminal Investigation Division, have arrested two Fort Lewis-based soldiers for a University District robbery.
Seattle Police Robbery Detectives took a 19-year-old man from Atlanta, Georgia and a 20-year-old man from Nashville, Tennessee into custody at Fort Lewis and booked into the King County Jail for robbery and assault.
According to police, at around 2am on January 17th the two suspects pistol-whipped and robbed two other men in the 1600 block of NE 47th and threatened a third man.
Last week, the University of Washington Police Department notified students that it would be increasing patrols around campus after a series of robberies and assaults in the area.
Thank goodness they protect our freedoms.

Well, boo on casual racism, but I’m not seeing anything about whether the soldiers arrested the other night were black or white. Has that information been given out?
if it weren’t for the discipline & honor these fellows learned in the army, they’d have turned to crime much earlier.

Are there any photos of these dudes available? They are from Atlanta (61% black) and Nashville (16% black), which means there is just as about as good a chance that they actually still are black as they are white rednecks. Seattle is only 8% black, just so you know.
I’m glad they’re in custody and that they finally have let us know who they were.
However, I’m disappointed that they’re -soldiers and -from the South (I’m from there myself and my birth state is among those listed.). I am curious as to what brings them up here. I’m guessing they’re stationed from Ft. Lewis, but why wouldn’t they be stationed somewhere in the Southeast? That’s really interesting.
Anyway, disappointing that happened, but glad they’re in custody.

Maybe if black men, only 3% of the USA, didn’t commit over 52% of all murders and over 34% of all rapes in our country every year, then people wouldn’t be so “quick to speculate”…. just sayin’
