Maybe it’s the probiotic/antibiotic showdown happening in my middle that colored my view, but this Piggly’s truck has to be the most unappetizing food advertisement I’ve ever seen while traveling at 60 miles an hour. Giant depictions of meat applied to the sides of trucks are always hilarious—like those 10-foot-tall honey-glazed hams you see on grocery store trucks across the nation—but this truck could make a vegetarian of anyone. That wavy background that looks like it’s meant to depict nausea, the vomity color scheme overall, that desiccated tomato on the hot dog, that vile bottle of whatever liquid brown stuff that is, the accidental eyebrows and eyes (or is that white mold?) on the turkey leg, that diarrhea-and-worms sandwich on the bottom—Piggly’s, you need a new food photographer and a new designer, stat.

The optical illusion background really sets it off
The colors don’t help either.
I’d rather eat this corndo[n]g: http://fastfood.ocregister.com/2010/09/1…
The background gives me more of a drug-trip feel, like I’m not sure what’s in that brown liquid, either, but I’m pretty sure it’s causing that wavy-circus feeling.
Nice mirror though.
The drumstick looks like the love child of Bullwinkle and a whale.
What the hell is it, anyways? The front looks like an RV, with windows; the back has a door in the side? This isn’t a grocery semi. Giant food cart? It’s too early for the Puyallup fair. Is this what the City Council had in mind for us when they authorized new food carts?
If there is a God in heaven, let this monstrosity be parked out in front of Stranger HQ for the next year.
@7, Google says the Evergreen State Fair in Monroe started their setup on Monday – they open Thursday. That’s the setting where a hypnotic festival meat n’ milkshake truck turns into a gold mine.
Wait – I found a list of Washington fairs going on this summer. That truck can just drive here and there until Christmas, trading turkey legs for rumpled bills dug out of overstuffed denim shorts. This could be just one of a local fleet for all we know. Yoicks.

@9, is it funny that I initially read that as “wastedstatefairs.com”?
I think red and yellow are supposed to stimulate the appetite or something. Obviously not in this configuration.
I would assume the festive colors are to attract attention in the midst of the visual and aural assault that is any public fair.
Right, like you were really driving 60 mph.
I travel and work for piggly’s bbq. you should see the stand when it’s all opened up and set to go. We have multiple trailers and that’s just one piece of the puzzle. the top signs actually open up and double the height with more horrid depictions of food 🙂
go ahead and check us out at http://www.facebook.com/pigglys
all of us at work just had a great time reading this thank you
Haha I work and travel for piggly’s extreme bbq and grill 🙂 We all just had one hell of a time reading your bashful taste in our business, but we’re actually a mobile concessions stand that does fairs and events, we’re actually here at arizona state fair getting ready to open tomorrow.
That Trailer is only one piece of the puzzle to setting up a great looking stand, we have other trailers and bbq’s that go with it. Yes that is a motorhome on the front of it, because my boss lives and uses it as an office when we travel.
Go ahead and check us out on facebook http://www.facebook.com/pigglys to see the actually great food that we produce and to see our trailers and stands set up instead of rolling down the road
