Today. From the just-released media advisory:
Significant announcement today related to South Park Bridge
Governor, County Executive and others to speak near southwest corner of the bridge
Governor Christine Gregoire, King County Executive Dow Constantine, and other regional and local leaders will speak this afternoon on significant developments related to the South Park Bridge. The news conference will be held this afternoon near the southwest footings of the bridge on the Duwamish River:
TODAY, Wednesday, June 23, 3:00 p.m.
South Park Bridge (southwest corner, on the South Park side)
14th Avenue South & South Orr StreetAlso speaking will be Seattle City Council President Richard Conlin, King County Councilmembers Bob Ferguson and Julia Patterson, Port of Seattle Commissioner Gayle Tarleton, and South Park Bridge Coalition Co-Chairs Dagmar Cronn and Larry Brown.
Dear God: Please let this news be as significant as I hope it will be. (By which I mean, let it be a stay of execution, rather than a proposed timeline for rebuilding or some shit.) Amen.

Gregoire will announce that unless Seattle agrees to eating cost overruns on the deep bore tunnel, she will order immediate “safety” demolition of the South Park Bridge.
It’s an announcement of an agreement to commission a study group to establish a working group to draw up a plan to seek funding for a bridge-replacement design board.
@2 – you took the words right off my keyboard. I wish that were far-fetched.
