A bobcat has attacked three people in the central Arizona community of Cottonwood, including two men who were bitten by the animal after it wandered inside a bar. […]

About 11 p.m. came the call from the bar that a bobcat was inside as patrons climbed atop bar stools to get away.

  1. Climbing atop barstools to get away from a bobcat is a good idea. Everyone knows that cats can’t climb, and once you’re on top of a barstool, you have the edge, mobility wise.

Except, you know, the exact opposite.

  2. I thought the whole point of being in a bar was to be safe from the bobcats. And the bats. If the bar can’t protect you then might as well drink outside and take yr chances.

  3. I’ll believe your side of it once I check out the twitter from Bobcat Goldthwaite.

I’m always safe from bobcats, cause I carry this lucky pebble.

  4. Bobcats are pretty shy. Maybe this one was rabid. Either that, or the unprovoked attack occurred only after the patrons cornered it and tied a tincan to its tail. Not to blame the victims or anything, but this is SLOG, after all. It’s what we do.

  6. If it weren’t for those irresponsible bar owners attracting bobcats to the area, no one would have been hurt.

They should be forced to sign a Good Neighbor Agreement, or something.

  7. that shit is real!

a friend of mine and her husband were hiking (here in tucson) and they were attacked by a rabid bobcat. their two dogs stood by and watched from about 50 yards away while it went down. they happen to be the cautious type who carry a hammer with them when they hike. the husband eventually beat the thing to death with the hammer, then they were off to the hospital for shots in the eyeballs or whatever the treatment for rabies is.

also a golfer was attacked by a bobcat and he had to beat the thing to death with a golf club. and if the bobcats don’t get you, the drug mules will.
