Straight Kissing? Family Friendly!

1. I’m certain simple math will finally bring Hannity back from the loony right. Sorry Dan, but the clip wasn’t really all that effective. 1 gay kiss — hell one gay smoking look — will give people like Hannity material for his hate mongering. So just go on being good people. Kiss the one you love. Make movies about life as you see it. The tide is turning, slowly. Maybe slower than you like, but it is turning. I’d guess that the majority of people don’t actually care if you’re gay or not. And THAT’S the win.

2. I know this is off a tangent but the stats that I really want to see from California is how much more money the state gained in tax revenue from gay marriages. One being the amount collected from the marriage licenses and the 2nd being how much the state gained or lost on income tax from the increase of married gay people. If you show those that are against gay marriage the economic incentive of having gay marriage in their state, they’ll start to shut up or be shut up by those starting to see the light. Capitalism will always beat Social Conservatism.

3. Umm yeah!…cause families are produced by straight interaction.

   Dan needs to learn about the birds and the bees. Seems like the poor thing never had the talk.

   Yeah, you’ve got a point. I didn’t see the Oscars and I don’t watch much TV let alone Hannity. Excluding my chosen entertainment, I don’t mind a peck, smooch whatever here and there but suckface, groping heck flat out pornographic PDA is irritating be it straight or gay.

    Although, if you DO want your kids to watch/be exposed to parents dying violent deaths and the evils of step- parenting, by all means, pop in that Disney video.
    Life is messy and kids are never too young to figure that out. Love is love, regardless of how it comes to you.

15. I don’t think of the Oscars as something that is aimed at children or kid-friendly. Children old enough to be interested in the Oscars are old enough to understand that people kiss, whether straight or gay. I think the GLAAD video is well done and makes the point well.

    YES!!!! i’ve seen SO MUCH more on so-called “kid-friendly” Disney movies and TV shows that are anything but! sex, infidelity, sneaking past your parents, lying your way out of trouble – it’s all there – and kissing, and talking about the “hotness” of classmates, ridiculing the smart kids … but no gay! no way!

    it’s SO ridiculous.

17. so parents let their kids stay up until midnight (east coast) on a school night because it’s “family friendly” entertainment? gay kissing is the least of their problems.

19. no carol, kids CAN be too young to figure out the messiness of life. however, that has nothing to do with watching people kiss, which doesn’t harm them. they just go “blech” if they’re a certain age or “ew, major surgery” if they’re even older than that. and then they go back to doing the little childish things that interest them.

20. Why does Hannity sexualize kissing? Most kissing is an expression of love, not an act of sex.

    I kiss my parents, I kiss my kids, I kiss my friends. I think I probably kiss other people more than I kiss my lover – and most of that kissing is non-sexual.

    Hannity just wants to use kissing as an excuse to talk about sex on daytime TV. Talking about sex is good for ratings.

25. I’m all for kissing, don’t care if its quick affectionate, or longing. I’d rather see people communicating affection than decking eachother.
