    He and Colbert both sometimes say things in parody, as comedy, or in jest. Your comments pointing this out to him are simply to make yourself feel smart by pointing out a “brilliant” piece of insight you thought he missed. The fact that you missed that he was well aware of your “insight” serves the opposite.
