2012 Republican presidential runner-up Rick Santorum was on Meet the Press yesterday, and he took the opportunity to talk shit about 2016 teabaggy Republican presidential favorite Ted Cruz. When asked whether he thought Cruz’s participation in the shutdown helped or hurt the party, Santorum blurbled:

I would say in the end, he did more harm. I think it was not his objective. I think his objective was a laudable one. I think he didn’t do a very good job in pointing it out. I think it’s one thing to have a goal and another thing to have a plan to get you to that goal.

Santorum, of course, endorsed Ted Cruz. But now that they’re both potentially 2016 candidates, it’s time for Cruz to learn that there’s a good Santorum and a bad Santorum. Bad Santorum can come from behind and stain you when you least expect it. That’s what happened here.
