Thick as pea soup at the Stranger Weathercenter. Later today: partly cloudy (why don’t they call it partly sunny?), high of 53 degrees. Tomorrow: light rain. Then: a nice weekend—a little sun, a little rain. Halloween: chilly, with a low of 38, but no rain, so at least you won’t have to carry an umbrella trick-or-treating.
The Fog!

I remember one year when I was a kid there was snow on the ground Halloween night. AND WE STILL TRICK OR TREATED. You guys who have to carry umbrellas sometimes can suck it up.
Partly sunny, partly cloudy, mostly sunny, sun breaks, chance of showers, chance of sun breaks… Your weather casters have about 200 ways to say “it could rain tomorrow” I always thought that would be the worlds easiest job..
Partly cloudy means mostly sun with some clouds. Partly sunny means mostly cloudy with some sun. Right?
@3 Hmm, I always thought it was the other way around. But that makes more sense.
sun breaks, sun showers, afternoon clouds, morning misting, evening drizzle, chance of a light sprinkle… basically all you have to say is it could be close to 60 degrees and it may rain. you’d just have to say it differently every day…
You know, “partly sunny” is a lot less depressing than “partly cloudy”. They really should make an effort to use it more.
I miss October fog more than any other kind of Seattle weather.
That fog was gorgeous!
