From the Christian Science Monitor:

In recent days, the bugs forced the temporary closures of a Victoria’s Secret and Abercrombie and Fitch. The shops say they’ve rid their stores of the bugs, but experts say the infestations are just the latest indication of the bedbug’s strong comeback.

After mostly being eradicated form the US a half century ago, infestations are so common that New York City formed a Bed Bug Advisory Board in 2009 to focus on preventing infestations.

They keep on coming…

Brend an Kiley has worked as a child actor in New Orleans, as a member of the junior press corps at the 1988 Republican National Convention, and, for one happy April, as a bootlegger’s assistant in Nicaragua....

  1. Ack.

On the bus last week there was a particularly talkative, older, larger lady in a wheelchair who for some reason felt like sharing the story of her apartment building being sprayed for bedbugs ‘just yesterday’.

I swear you could actually feel the entire busload of passengers recoil away from her. Ack.

  2. Bedbugs are NOT THAT BIG OF A DEAL, YOU PUSSIES.

YES, I get it, ALSO, I have had them. They suck, HARD. But the only real tool against them you can use is the one thing they destroy right off the bat: SANITY.

I lived in Brooklyn and got them BAD, and due to a shitty situation I had no landlord support. I got rid of them and moved over a 3 month period and won. It was hella easy and I am a poor bastard.

    I:
Raised my bed, isolated it from the walls and such.
Killed all the bedbugs I could find, looked everywhere for them (They leave unmistakable poops)
Treated areas I thought they could enter with caulk and Vaseline.
Created safe zones where I had triple checked that there were no bugs.

As I could kill them WAY faster than they could reproduce it just became the matter of getting them out of the building, I couldn’t do that so I ended up moving. I DID NOT TAKE ANY WITH ME.

Mice were FAR WORSE of an infestation than BB, I cant catch a mouse.
