WSU has a row team. You can rent a rower. You can rent as many rowers as you like for $12 an hour. The rent-a-rower request form here. You cannot order your eggs sunny-side-up at the Old European. The waitress—who hit a deer on her way to work today—can tell you why.

  1. My daughter rowed in high school. Rowers have the most beautiful bodies: strong legs, great butts. Her coaching team included (I kid you not!) a pair of identically gorgeous twin brothers. Me and the other mothers used to watch from the food tent (rowers eat a LOT) and sigh.

Rent-a-rower is a pretty common way to raise money for teams–the rowers are really strong, tend to be cheerful and hard-working. Hard as I tried I could never think of a project where I needed one….

  2. Gee, that’s funny – I get rare steaks, eggs sunny-side up, and even rare hamburgers all the time. Maybe Denver’s a little less neurotic about stuff like that. Or maybe I’m just eating in a better class of restaurants.

  3. Why you’re having eggs sunny side up and not in the goulash is beyond me – but then again maybe you were insterested in being able to move for the rest of the day.

  4. Pullman-Moscow contains many mysteries. It’s too bad you’re not visiting in the spring; otherwise I would have recommended hiking Kamiak Butte and taking in a lovely view of the Palouse.

  5. If people would get over their unfounded fears of radiation and we started irradiating food, people could eat steak tartar and raw eggs if they wanted.

  6. I rowed in high school and loved it. One of the things I miss most about the pnw are the bodies of water. There are none where I am now, so no masters rowing for me.

  7. The WSU Men’s Crew Team needs your support and will work hard to get it!

You provide the materials and tools, and we provide the labor for your needs!

    OH MY.

  8. Back when the Goodwill Games came to Seattle (remember those?), the rowing crews from all around the world would practice down on the Rainer Beach side of Lake Washington. Never having been a rower, I imagine rowing is more fun to do than to watch. The participants, on the other hand, are VERY watchable. The guys on Rainer Beach were INCREDIBLE eye candy! It was hard keeping my hands to myself (but I did).

A very good friend of mine at San Diego State got her education carte blanche because she rowed for the school. Certainly beats getting student loans and working terrible jobs to pay tuition!
