Are our troops in Iraq trying to send President Obama a message?

  1. That room is way too messy to belong to a gay person.

    Plus, if they were gay, at least one of them would be able to actually dance.

    @3,4. Yes, kinda hot.

  2. Don’t read too much into it, Dan. Homoerotic is, ironically, the height of humor in the testosterone-drenched military.

    Examples include “It’s not gay if it’s underway,” the ever obnoxious “package check,” and the ability to slap another man on the ass (provided you say “good game”).

    It’s locker-room humor.
    Gay? Certainly.
    Homosexual? Hardly.

  3. I’m with @8. I particularly liked the rock paper scissors game… and the main guy’s “go to” dance, which sort of looks like the chicken dance (2:57).

  4. So not gay.

    Having been in the military, and being gay, I can tell you that I have seen far gayer-seeming activity from bored straight servicemen before.

    It’s not gay unless actual assfucking is involved. This is just vaguely homoerotic silliness.

  5. My verdict: Not gay… not even in a just-this-one-time handjob way.

    HOWEVER! It is certain that dozens, if not hundreds, of intelligence personnel are now working double shifts to identify the deviants in this video so that they may be purged, and the Army thus cleansed of this Gay Problem.

  6. My brother, who just got back from Iraq, said the troops are a little nutty from the whole thing; no women and no alcohol;
    I cant wait to forward this to him. and his wife.

  7. Finally the military ban on Gays makes sense–it’s a stop-gap measure: otherwise simply BEING in the Army would make EVERY enlisted person homosexual.

  8. Amazing how the muscle dude was able to prance around like that without any spittle from his dip spewing out.

    That notwithstanding, it made me hard watching them!

    Where do I enlist?

  9. 21’s posted name is the most lucid/humorous commentary on straight homoeroticism I’ve ever seen

    “It’s All Fun & Games until Someone Puts Out”

  10. When you are in the military, your life oscilates between very long bouts of mind numbing boredom and brief episodes of
    absolute terror.

  11. yeah maybe the army needs some drag queens. At least they will get the lip synching correct. Well, actually I recant that, looking at most of the shitty drag queens in Seattle, probably not! At least these boys are cute!

  12. Hmmm. Yes. White boys.

    You can tell they’re white by the way they move. But bless ’em. Glad they’re finding ways of having a little fun over there – ways that don’t involve blood, humiliation, and/or bullets.

    Come home soon, boys.

  13. The best part is the guy who just happens to walk past them at the end, glances over, and keeps on going. Clearly business as usual over there.

    I agree, straight (due to messy room), but hot, friendly, and likable.

  14. Is it only white boys who do goofy shit like this? I’m wracking my brains but I’m having a hard time coming up with other non-honky examples.

  15. @9
    You’re right.
    This kind of humor is the modern version of 1920’s blackface; a mocking caricature dealing in stereotypes.
    Sorry, Dan- the Army is not Gay.
    Far from it.

  16. Those boys could not be more adorable. Period. God I hope every one of them makes it home whole (even if it’s not to a homo hole).

  17. @ 14, Nice Monty Python’s Flying Circus reference. Dunno if anyone else caught it, but I did. Makes me want to go on an expedition to Lake Pahoe.

    As for this video…well, the guy not in the army shirt…very good looking. Overall, kind of a cute video (and yes, a little hot). I don’t think it’s a neo-minstrely thing…it just doesn’t seem over-the-top enough.
