Not clothes, sir, but this:

Underwear model Karolina Kurkova has no belly button. Is a barely-there navel for cosmetic or medical reasons?

The newspapers call it the “riddle of the £2.5m beauty”. The beauty in question is Czech supermodel Karolina Kurkova. The riddle is her non-existent belly button.

Its absence was noticed this week when the 24-year-old graced a US catwalk for lingerie giant Victoria Secret. While most of us have an “outie” or an “innie”, Ms Kurkova has a smooth indentation (although sometimes a tummy button is airbrushed onto her photos in post-production).

  1. Somehow I’m finding this more visualy disturbing than that tree guy from Indonesia.
A visit to the Medical Oddities Museum in Philly didn’t have me cringing as much as this does.

  2. i always thought actresses playing aliens, as depicted on the scifi channel, wore too little clothing. i thought, surely real aliens wouldn’t be so immodest. i see now that i was completely wrong, and scifi was right.

  3. There must be some logical explanation, probably a botched surgery. Or maybe she had it removed on purpose, because she’s insane.

Or maybe a bunch of impressionable young women will go out and have their belly buttons removed…in Mudede’s future, perhaps the clones will be the envied ones, and the organics will aspire to copy the copies.

  4. @20 – Which begs the question, how much can final navel shape be determined by the doctor? I mean, could special umbilical cutters make for sexier navels?

  5. I have honestly never heard of someone not having a belly button. This is the most interesting thing I’ve learned all day. Sad, but true.

  6. The most disturbing thing about this item is definitely the word “tummy-button”.

Because as everyone knows, models don’t have BELLIES!

  7. What the enquiring mind really wants to know, though, is whether or not this model is anatomically correct, or does she have Barbie-doll underparts?
