The comic book where Obama meets Spider-Man is sold out across the country. A comic book store in New York City had to hire a bouncer (named Bronko Spaleta) to keep the masses smoothly flowing in and out of the store.
In other comic book news, Jonah Spangenthal-Lee just sent me an e-mail that I know is going to be keeping me up at night with worry:
What’s Superman going to use as a cover when he gets laid off from his job at the Daily Planet?
Good question, Jonah! He worked as a TV reporter in the swingin’ 70s. I guess he’ll have to go back to that. TV news seems so unheroic, though.
Maybe he can blog for The Estranger, since it’s a parallel to Earth?

Or he’d just have Batman give him money. Considering that Bruce Wayne owns the Daily Planet, Clark Kent’s apartment building, and probably the Kent Farm in the near future.

This morning at the Pike Place comic store, Golden Collectibles, they had the same spiderman comic with a different cover. The Obama cover issues were “all spoken for.” They did say, however, that there is a new printing of the Obama cover coming next week.
With all this Obama imagery, Spidey covers, Shep F. posters, etc., I feel like we’re turning him into Chairman Mao. Perhaps he’ll publish a little red book.
Also, where will Superman live when the Arctic is ice free?
