- Screencapture from the Video timelapse shows the process of adding clay to a cast of the eodromaeus’ skull.
Identified: Adorable dog-sized dinosaur with adorable name:
The tiny eodromaeus (pronounced ee-oh-DRO-mus) murphi, or “dawn runner,” weighed only 10 to 15 pounds and was about four feet from snout to tail tip. Its body, the scientists say, was about the size of a small dog.

In other important dinosaur news, Matt Hickey has been offered a selection of robot dinosaurs which he is turning down:
Sadly, I don’t really have a budget for robot dinosaurs, and I’m actually quite afraid that they’d malfunction, go crazy, and eat me and everyone I love…
Who will be buying these for me? Because I CLEARLY NEED THEM and would happily feed them my cat and maybe a few people I know. Your loss, Hickey!

Hello Mary,
Thank you for continuing to post dinosaur news. As a life-long dino lover, your posts help to make my day!
Robot dinosaurs should be seen and not heard.
Also, off leash areas may result in the death of smaller dogs.
This must’ve been the dog that Jesus had as a child.
Can we not see the BIRD!?!? They are evil and waiting for the rise of their underlords…….the REPTILIANS!!!
@4 so that’s why michaelp was playing Angry Birds during our SECB interview …
And lucky me, I’m probably taking a class taught by Prof. Sereno in a year or two. (Yes, he teaches a few paleontology-related courses at the university at which I am currently an undergrad. You jelly?)
