And just so you know, I’ve seen a picture of wisepunk’s promised “homemade sea-salt chocolate caramels” and they look a-maz-ing.

  1. Why is everybody creaming their jeans about salted candy? I’ve had salted caramel, salted chocolate, and it was terrible. What is wrong with you people?

  2. Speaking of salt, caramel, and chocolate, has anybody tried Starbucks new Caramel hot chocolate yet? Apparently they sprinkle sea salt on the whipped cream.

This trivia thing, is it Slog trivia again, or some other trivia?

  3. prolly slog trivia. or maybe trivia about indie bands or obscure record labels in which case fnarf will clean up. if it’s movies, TV, theatre or books, I clean up.

  4. It’s going to be Slog/local news trivia I think. Stuff from the paper, stuff from Slog/Line Out–a good mix of politics, art, local news…

I’m also getting some good stuff to put in the prize packages! For example: Season 4 of Grey’s Anatomy DVD box set!

Don’t jump for it all at once, guys.

  5. PopTart, I have tried that hot chocolate. I do not recommend it. It is like drinking a salty, extremely concentrated pudding pop. That might sound tasty, but don’t be fooled. In fact, the only reason I went there was to try that specific hot chocolate. I woulnd’t get it again.

  6. Thanks Mikki, I’ll steer clear. Pudding Pops make me gag. In case you haven’t checked Yahoo Sports messages today, if you come to Slog Happy I’ll buy you a mint julep in honor of your team demoralizing mine. (or mint julep equivalent.)

  7. While Slog Happy is all fine and good, the tomorrow night is the 2nd day of the Vera Project’s annual fundraiser, A Drink For the Kids where all the alcoholic “adults” can help “the kids” by drinking whiskey and beer. Everyone wins!

This benefit for an amazing All-ages music/art venue is even Stranger sponsored, Sloggers. Tonight at the Saint, Shorty’s, Hazlewood, and Easy Street (West Seattle). Tomorrow at Cha Cha, Hattie’s Hat, Mission, and the Rendezvous.

  8. @23, those are good, aren’t they? Dubbelzout! It’s not just the salt, it’s the ammonia. They can also be used for entertainment, when you lure unsuspecting people into trying one for the first time.

  9. PopTart, I had not checked it yet today! If I end up there tomorrow I will be thrilled to drink a mint julep equivalent (mint juleps are totally nasty), but I will pretend it is one so I can use my exaggerated southern man accent.
