“In 2008 I was in Oslo, Norway visiting the new opera house. It’s a gorgeous contemporary structure,” writes Slog tipper/international urinator Thomas Carver. “This carries through to a rather interesting and gorgeous contemporary trough in the men’s room. I’ve always hated troughs at the Kingdome, Longacres, rest stops, etc. And despite the dramatic lighting and the privacy screens, I can’t say that this was entirely comfortable for me either. And I’m an architect!”

I look at this and then look at Seattle’s library downtown and Beneroya Hall and just cry…just cry.
Troughs are subhuman no matter how much frosted glass they’re made of.
Opera is cool.
those aren’t privacy screens. they’re splash guards.
