Oklahoma’s Sally Kern has a point: America’s Christian leaders have been asleep to the threat that the militant gay rights movement poses to our nation. There has to be a few Christian pastors out there somewhere who believe that the homosexual lifestyle is a sin and are brave enough to say so from their pulpits. The silence from the Christian community on the threat of homosexuality is absolutely scandalous. They almost never talk about the gay lifestyle. Thank God Sally Kern has finally broken the silence.

  1. I love that she equates other people’s actions (which don’t affect her in the least) to an infringement on her religious freedom. what a nutcase! I mean, hell, my interpretation of the Torah and New Testament leads me to believe that Jesus was a false prophet, but you don’t see me whining about how all these damn Christians go around praying to a false god…

  2. Which gay lifestyle does she disapprove of? The one where I care for a child, a disabled partner, and aged parents? The one where I work in a job that allows me to help people every day? The one where I help support my church, and practice my religion? That gay lifestyle? ‘Cause that’s the only gay lifestyle I’m living.

  3. OMG she’s finally seen through the cloud of secrecy. How? How did she do it? Did she send in undercover agents to the secret meetings at the secret locations? And how did she finally get to see the Secret Homo-MANifesto (The Secret HOMO-LESBOfesto is still being re-written).

We will have to change our tactics now. She is on to us and our sinister plans to destroy America one fashion statement at a time.

  4. I’m ashamed of her. I’m sorry for her bigotry, homophobia, and what appears to be an inability to study scriptures in ancient Hebrew and Greek. She appears as a frightened fool.

  5. Ok now wait a minute, I’m gay but I haven’t been introduced to the fold of the “militant gay rights movement” did my invitation get lost?

  6. OMFG! I am going to hell for supporting the militant gay lifestyle!

But, I’m straight. And married. But, yeah, we don’t have kids, so, our marriage isn’t a “real” marriage.

But, we do engage in BDSM. Yeah, but some Christians believe if it happens in a hetero married bedroom, then, it’s okay. But, maybe they are the WRONG Christians? Sorry, mom, you’re probably going to hell, despite attending a fundamentalist church for 28 years several times per week, and being generous and christ-like.

But, my gay friends all supported me and employed me and housed me when I was homeless and jobless. But, that probably doesn’t count as good deeds to gawd, cuz they took me to their gay bars as their fag hag. And I liked it, Jebus, fergive me! I let them fondle my dirty pillows! . . . and the dancing! Oh, gawd, the dancing!

Well, I did house and feed that one gay teen who was kicked out of his house for being gay. But, maybe I should have let him die on the street or end up with some predatory nutjob?

And I did provide a safe and supportive place for my lesbian cousin to engage in lezbo sex with her girlfriend for nearly a year until her conservative christian parents got a grip and let her bring her girlfriends home. But, they should have just said “no.” I mean, that lifestyle they led – going to karaoke, having a few drinks, coming over to play board games and watch movies. And then the sex! Well, we did take snacks to them once or twice, right when we thought things were gettin’ good, you know, just to try to stop their sinfulness.

At least I know I don’t have to interfere with my nieces as they drink underage and get into bars and go home with strangers and have unsafe sex. That lifestyle is not “gay”, so I guess it’s okay. And all those young girls that come into my store with babies and don’t have their GED yet, and there is no daddy cuz he’s in prison for meth. I guess I don’t have to do anything about that because that is not “gay.” And I guess those things aren’t enough of a problem, or maybe that is just an accepted lifestyle among the Christians. As long as they keep having babies. Cute little innocent babies!

    Thank God I’m an Athiest!

Sarcasm aside, yeah, we need to be a little afraid. WTF is up with Joe Plumber speaking to Repub’s like he is some guru? And why do I keep reading about Palin? And why is Rush Limbaugh the god of this country? It is sickening – and the more scared everybody is getting over jobs, the more they want someone to blame. Rush & Republicans are doing a great job of re-directing that anger – away from the rich, the corporations, and to the immigrants, the welfare mothers, the idea of government helping, etc. I don’t want a fucking tax cut! I want a better fucking bunch of kids graduating from school and contributing to our nation/society!

Once again, the Democrats are caving like a fat horny female submissive.

Someone, please, go give them Domination lessons!

  7. Too bad for her and the other haters that Oklahoma is pretty irrelevent on the national scene. It is not particularly populous nor is it the cynosure of public opinion. Perhaps that is their problem, they crave attention. As my lady-like southern sisters would say: “Poor thing, bless her.”

  8. Note to Christian rights people: You have not been minorities or discriminated against in western society since Constantine. Your strategy of co-opting language descriptive of bigotry to describe people who don’t share your views is actually strengthen the case that you belong back in the catacombs of Rome with the rats and ‘true believers.’

  9. Part of me thinks it’s best to ignore these kinds of people… If nobody hears them, does anybody care? As far as I’m concerned, she might as well be a pebble with a mouth.

But then again, if we don’t address these kinds of opinions, is there some kind of mentality that ‘they got away with saying it without any reason to put them in their place’?

And if we do think she’s wrong, is there more we should be doing?

  10. I work on the Capitol Complex in Oklahoma City and frequently walk over to the Capitol building for one reason or another. I’m tempted to find out which parking spot is hers and stick pink triangles and rainbow bumper stickers all over her car.
