In this week’s Stranger, I offer some imagined internal monologues that might explain why some politicians in our Congressional delegation are dodging the health care town hall format.
But, while we’re dinging the dodgers, some credit to a non-dodger: Seattle Democrat Jim McDermott, who today announced the date and location for his (one and only) in-person town hall meeting:
On Tuesday, September 1, Rep. McDermott will host a town hall meeting from 7:00 — 8:30 p.m. Pacific at the University of Washington, Meany Hall. Doors will open at 6:15 —p.m. and seating will be on a first come basis. Meany Hall can accommodate 1,200 people, with additional capacity just outside the auditorium, if necessary. The site was selected because of its large capacity, readily available parking and mass transit options.
Teabaggers, and teabagger-tamers, take note.

What’s up with the extreme Photoshop sharpening on those photos? Why did Maria get less sharpening then the rest? We all know that photos are chosen, given the slant of the publication, to either make a politician look good or bad, but taking what look to be PR photos from the candidates and filtering them to look bad is just wrong.
