In this week’s Stranger, I offer some imagined internal monologues that might explain why some politicians in our Congressional delegation are dodging the health care town hall format.

But, while we’re dinging the dodgers, some credit to a non-dodger: Seattle Democrat Jim McDermott, who today announced the date and location for his (one and only) in-person town hall meeting:

On Tuesday, September 1, Rep. McDermott will host a town hall meeting from 7:00 — 8:30 p.m. Pacific at the University of Washington, Meany Hall. Doors will open at 6:15 —p.m. and seating will be on a first come basis. Meany Hall can accommodate 1,200 people, with additional capacity just outside the auditorium, if necessary. The site was selected because of its large capacity, readily available parking and mass transit options.

Teabaggers, and teabagger-tamers, take note.

  1. If the Birthers want, they can set themselves on fire in Red Square, provided they have someone to sweep up their ashes afterwards …

  2. You can call us “teabaggers” all you want, but we are one of many reasons America has woken up to the fraud that is Barack Hussein Obama.

it is certain that enough right thinking congressmen will reject any all all health care reform proposals, and then in 2010, patriotic tax cutting conservatives will take over in Congress, setting up the massive landslide defeat of Barack Hussein Obama.

America will be free again. *Whew*

    glad I have my guns.

  3. @6: coburn and inhofe (ok) are lamer. far far far lamer. flat earther/creationist lamer.

@4: please cite the poll showing that the majority of murkins agree with your position – that being some evidence that murka has “woken up”.

  4. @4 – lol, like that will help you.

Three-quarters of American citizens want single payer national health care. And some of us who actually served in the military are quite willing to deal with any armed insurrections if need be.

well if that is true they are the most inept 3/4 that ever existed in a democracy and deserve to be bitchslapped around by a handful of obnoxious loudmouth halfwits.

and if you are as inept at suppressing armed revolt as you are at passing your beloved single-payer then the Teabaggers should start designing their flag and picking names for their new Republic…

Coburn is a class act and genuine article,
and btw shut Maddows smarmy face nicely on the Sunday news show they both appeared on a week ago. (Dick Armey also put her in her place on the same segment)

Nothing is more hysterical to Red America than when a Liberal gets all “we’ve got guns too and we ain’t afraid to use them…”

The one thing Red America does not fear is armed conflict with the Liberals.

    Taxes, yes.
    Gay Marriage- Ick.
    Socialized Medicine- for sure.

But an armed smackdown with the Liberals, why that would just be satisfying, for sure.

  8. What’s up with the extreme Photoshop sharpening on those photos? Why did Maria get less sharpening then the rest? We all know that photos are chosen, given the slant of the publication, to either make a politician look good or bad, but taking what look to be PR photos from the candidates and filtering them to look bad is just wrong.
