@15, 48, 136 –
We have quite the cadre here! The Terrace is the best thing that could happen to a university. Or even a city. That’s what we should have on the waterfront. A giant fucking beer garden.
In bed, on my iPhone, nursing my beautiful baby off to sleep, while my wife fixes us some dinner, after another mild and sunny Ventura County, California day.
Downtown Salt Lake City. Spitting distance from Temple Square (those Mormons sure know how to fuck up a stunning mountain vista).
Christchurch New Zealand. Beautiful spring day, too bad about the aftershocks though…
I just noticed this was getting so many comments. Me? Wallingford, Seattle, work.
I’m not sure who the winner is; @56 said “India”, while @134 said “2 hours outside of Sydney”. Sydney and Mumbai are almost exactly equidistant from Seattle, 7,739 miles and 7,755 miles respectively, so I guess it’s down to where in India. If we take the Australian locale as approximately Dubbo (which would be a good name for a Darren Hanlon song), that’s 7769 miles, so our Indian correspondent would have to be at least fourteen miles south of Mumbai to take the prize.
In my dorm room at BU
OVER YOUR SHOULDER.

This is so cool! Sitting in a log bed (Mr. Canuck goes for the Western motif, sadly), on a misty, cold night in Bragg Creek, Alberta.
Home desk, with fabulous view of San Francisco from way up (currently: an advancing baguette of fog has just swallowed SBC Park). Shouts out to @38 and @84.
At my dorm in Portland.

In bed in a modest hotel in a suburb of Kansas City, MO. Travelin’ for work. With the AC on at 1:30am in September.
At home in Regina (rhymes with “vagina”–yes really) Saskatchewan, Canada. And @121–hey Bart!
At work, in rural Japan.
This morning I’m reading Slog in a hotel room in Romney, West Virginia. But usually I read it in my kitchen in Southern Maryland.
Sydney, Australia…That makes three New South Welshmen here!
(or, in my case, New South Welshwoman)
From my residence in Seattle, somewhere north of the ship canal.
(Has cranking out a top-commented Slog post ever been this easy?)
Sitting in my flat in Berlin.

From a small island, entirely off the grid, on a computer powered by solar panels. Tall trees and absolute black darkness outside the windows of this tiny house. No sound except the cat’s tongue while he washes himself.
In my office at home in Aalen, Germany (when I should be working).
In Melbourne, Australia, in a Victorian terrace bedroom. Far enough away for you, Fnarf @155?
In NYC of course, the best best best place in the world (on a 72 degree sunny day)
From my bed in Southeast Seattle, just like every morning.
On the labor floor.
Reading on my imac next to my window that is open and pouring in sounds of airplanes overhead, cars passing on the wet streets, and (right now) the few and far between raindrops. My kitten is sleeping away in my bed next to me and I am surrounded by Hello Kitty adornments and various other miscellany. Vancouver, WA.
Porterville, CA, home of the only City Council in California to pass a Resolution IN FAVOR of Prop 8.
I’m reading Slog at work too, but then again I work for a Philadelphia blog, so reading blogs kind of IS my work, so I guess it’s ok. By the way, Dan, given the fact that The First State is our neighbor here in Philly, if you do try to institute a quasi-official Masturbate To Christine O’Donnell Day, we’re totally behind it. Some in these parts are already calling this political running gag “deLOLware.”
Bangor Maine, in Group Process class, while the rest of the class is watching Survivor.
At my desk in Los Angeles.
Although I usually only read it from my phone because slog/stranger is the slowest loading website I have ever come across and it loads faster on my phone. It’s so slow that I never click on links until after I’m done reading the entire body of slog… for the same reason. If the poster has forgotten to make the link open in a new window or tab it will take me forever to get back to the blog body. Even more annoying is when the link goes to another portion of thestranger.com in the same window. All this hassle and I still read it daily.
