Not that it really matters, but for the mildly curious: The Space Needle—courtesy of KOMO news—claims to have gotten the state’s first private liquor delivery in the wake of initiative 1183, from Woodinville Whiskey, sold by the Click distribution company, at 9 am on March 1.
However! I happened to see a box of Batch 206 vodka cross the threshold of Oddfellows restaurant shortly after 8:30 am and a check written directly to the distillers.
Can anyone beat that? Any enterprising distillers/distributors make a sale at 12:01 am on March 1? I wouldn’t put it past those guys from Dry Fly in Spokane. They led the charge for state craft distilling in 2008—and they’ve got a flair of publicity.
