Firefighters are attempting to rescue window washers outside the 35th floor of the Sheraton Hotel on 5th Avenue and Pine street. Their rig is stuck and hanging at an angle. KING TV has the live stream.

So, um, I guess you can put away your popcorn. It’s all over. They’re fine.
PS — There’s not enough money in the Trump Tower to make me wash its windows.

Those guys do not make enough money. HOWEVER much money they make, it ain’t enough.
Rescued!

Jesus. I wouldn’t go up in that rig for a million bucks, not even once. I never used to be afraid of heights when I was younger but for some reason I sure as hell am now.
The Sheraton is at 6th and Pike, not 5th and Pine.
Still. Harrowing shit, nonetheless.
anything above five floors is irrelevant…
I heard only people with that sexual fetish for heights do this job. They don’t even deserve to be paid since they just do it for the orgasms.
Lucky you – you’re not poor enough so you don’t ever have to.
Gah! So scary!!! I’m in the building across the street on the 28th floor – we’ve been watching and worrying!
High-rise window cleaning is the safest kind. I was a window cleaner for 11 years. You might me slightly more likely to die while on a high-rise (there have been at least two deaths in the last 20 years in Seattle alone) but your chances of being injured (or injured for life) skyrocket as your work gets lower and lower, with the most dangerous work being on a 6-foot step ladder. I almost broke my neck on one.
It should also be noted that there is no window cleaners’ union in the U.S., while there is a few in Europe.
