Just got out of an AAFS seminar titled “Suicide Notes: What Are the Victims Trying to Tell Us?”
The answer?
They’re depressed.
Thanks, AAFS!
Some stats: Suicide is the 11th leading cause of death in the U.S., and the third leading cause of death among males between 15 and 24, after accident and homicide. Only one-third of suicides leave notes. 43% of the notes express feelings of love for an individual, and 84% contain “notes or themes of despair.” Brad Delp, lead singer for Boston, left several notes in his home, all of them, according to the presenter, “short and sweet, such as this one [Power Point slide up] that says: ‘Mr. Brad Delp. J’ai une ame solitaire.’ That’s French for ‘I am a lonely soul.'”
I’m going to skip the rest of today’s presentations and come back for tomorrow’s seminars on rats, snitches, and bullets ricocheting off water. I’ll keep you posted.

Fuck this conference, I’m super happy and am going to blow my brains out!! Why? ‘Cause I’m so fucking HAPPY!!! And I want to be with JEEESSUSSS!!!
Glad you have something to look forward to!

That suicide note was apprently lifted from Harold Smith’s suicide note in Twin Peaks. Just wanted to be the first to point that out.
