Is Dan Savage a journalist? I’ve only heard him refer to himself as a sex-advice columnist. I don’t track his every word nor listen to his every utterance, so maybe someone can correct me, but I can’t remember him calling himself a journalist.

All in all, i’s actually a rather polite message, with that “In my opinion” disclaimer.
